Acturus Issues

Adding the ability to close an output file and open a new
one independently of input file open and close is being
discussed. We are early in the design stages, not yet
on the release schedule.

Tom Junk asked about when exactly the sort is done on the
FileIndex, answer is just before output file close. This
led to a brief discussion of the physical layout of events
in an art root file and the general problem of disk i/o
performance.
Gianluca Petrillo requested that fhiclcpp be updated in the
next v1.17 release.
Rob Kutschke mentioned Dave Adams’ request for an example
of how to use multiple random engines in a single art module.
Rob was able to provide him one. Mention was made of how
random seed distribution must be carefully handled in a grid
workflow.
